Our trip information comes from sources such as Wikipedia, OpenStreetMap and Apple Maps, plus suggestions from AI. We work hard to keep it right, but opening hours, prices, timetables and travel rules change, and AI can get things wrong. Please check anything important with the official source before you book or travel.
What OffYaGo gives you
OffYaGo helps you plan a trip. It suggests places, puts them in an order, estimates travel times and costs, and offers ideas for where to eat and stay. We put real care into getting this right. Still, it is general information to help you plan. It is not professional advice, and it isn't a promise that everything is exactly as described.
Where it comes from
Our information comes from public and licensed sources, and some of it is produced automatically:
- Places and descriptions. We write our own descriptions, using sources such as Wikipedia, Wikivoyage and Wikidata as reference.
- Maps, directions and travel times. These come from Apple Maps and OpenStreetMap.
- Weather. Forecasts come from Open-Meteo.
- AI suggestions. Some suggestions are produced by AI services, and are marked "AI suggested" in the app. That includes routes between places, travel times, places to eat and stay, and ideas for a free afternoon. They come from Google Gemini, Perplexity and the AI built into your iPhone.
Each of these sources can be incomplete, out of date or simply wrong, and so can we.
Please check before you rely on it
Things change, often without notice: opening hours, prices, closures, timetables, booking rules, and entry, visa or health requirements. Before you book, pay or set off, check anything that matters to you with the people who run it. That means the venue, the operator, the airline or rail company, or official government travel advice for safety, visas and health.
AI can sound confident and still be wrong. Treat an AI suggestion as a starting point, not a fact.
Your decisions
You decide what to book, where to go and how to travel. Use your own judgement, especially about your safety, your health and your money.
Your privacy
When you sign in, we receive your name and email address from Apple or the sign-in service you choose. We use them to identify you and to keep your trips and saved places with your account. We also collect app usage and crash reports, through Google Firebase, to understand what works and to fix what breaks.
We don't sell your personal information, and OffYaGo has no ads. Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, how long we keep it and your rights. Ask us about your information at tourstruct@gmail.com.
By continuing to use OffYaGo, you agree to our Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.
Our responsibility
We provide the app and its content "as is". We can't guarantee that it is complete, accurate, current or available at all times. To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for loss or inconvenience caused by relying on information in the app without checking it. That includes a missed connection, a closed venue or a changed price. Nothing here limits any right you have under the Australian Consumer Law, or any other law, that can't lawfully be excluded.
The services we name are not affiliated with us and don't endorse us. Their names and logos belong to their owners.
Help us make it better
OffYaGo is free to use and has no ads, so it gets better every time a traveller helps. If you can, please:
- Tell us what's wrong. A closed venue, a changed price or a travel time that's off.
- Suggest a place we've missed. The quiet spot the locals love is exactly what we're looking for.
- Share your photos. If you've taken a good photo of a place in the app, we'd love to show it, credited with your name. We'll send you a short agreement first, so you decide how it's used.
- Tell us what would make planning easier. We read every message.
When you send us a correction, suggestion or idea, you're letting us use it to improve the app, with no payment or obligation either way. Photos are different: we only publish one once you've signed the agreement.
