We use your name and email from sign-in to run your account, keep your trips and saved places with it, and collect app usage and crash reports to keep the app working. We don't sell your information, and OffYaGo has no ads.
Who we are
OffYaGo is a trip-planning app owned and operated by TourStruct ("we", "us"). This policy explains what personal information we collect when you use the app, why, who else receives it, and your choices. We handle personal information under Australia's Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles, and we respect the rights that other privacy laws, such as the GDPR, give you.
What we collect
When you sign in
- Your name and email address, from Sign in with Apple. If you choose Apple's "Hide My Email", we receive a private relay address instead of your real one.
- An account identifier that our sign-in service (Amazon Cognito) creates for you.
You can browse OffYaGo without signing in. Planning and saving trips needs an account.
What you create in the app
- Your trips: names, dates, places, days and the plans the app builds.
- Places you save, and anything you write in the app.
- Your travel preferences, such as the countries you're interested in and your home base.
- A record of the AI features you use, so we can show you the app's running cost and keep it within limits.
Usage and crash reports
The app sends usage and crash reports through Google Firebase: which screens you open and buttons you tap, how long network requests take, and what went wrong when the app crashes. These reports are linked to your account identifier, not your name or email, so we can fix problems you run into.
Notifications
If you allow notifications, your device gets a push token from Firebase Cloud Messaging, and we store it with your account so we can reach you. We only send service messages and requests to share a trip. We never send marketing.
What we don't collect
OffYaGo doesn't track your device's location, and doesn't access your camera, photo library, contacts or health data. If you use Face ID to lock the app, that check happens on your device and we never receive it. We don't take payments.
How we use it
- To create your account and keep your trips and saved places with it.
- To plan your trips, including the AI suggestions you ask for.
- To fix crashes, understand which features help, and improve the app.
- To keep the app secure and stop misuse.
- To contact you about your account, a share request or a change to these policies.
We don't sell your personal information. OffYaGo has no ads, and we don't use your information to target advertising.
Who else receives it
We share information only with the services that run the app, and only what each one needs:
- Amazon Web Services stores your account and trips, in its Asia Pacific (Singapore) region.
- Apple provides Sign in with Apple, maps and place search.
- Google Firebase receives usage and crash reports and delivers notifications.
- Google Gemini and Perplexity receive the trip details an AI suggestion needs, such as places, dates and your preferences. We don't send them your name or email address.
- Apple Intelligence writes some trip summaries on your device, so that information stays on your device.
We may also disclose information when the law requires it, or to protect the safety and rights of our users, the public or TourStruct.
Where it's stored
Your information is stored in Singapore. Our providers may process it in other countries, including the United States. When information leaves Australia, we take reasonable steps so that it is protected to a standard similar to the Australian Privacy Principles.
How long we keep it
We keep your account information and trips while your account is open. When you ask us to delete your account, we delete it and the information linked to it within 30 days, unless the law requires us to keep something longer. Usage and crash reports are kept by Firebase for a limited time and then deleted.
Your rights and choices
- See or correct your information. Ask us for a copy, or ask us to fix anything that's wrong.
- Delete your account. Contact us and we'll delete it and your trips.
- Notifications. Turn them off at any time in your iPhone's Settings.
- Complain. Tell us first and we'll try to put it right. If you're not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au), or your local data-protection authority.
Children
OffYaGo isn't meant for children under 16, and we don't knowingly collect their information. If you think a child has given us information, contact us and we'll delete it.
Security
Your information travels encrypted and is stored with Amazon Web Services' security protections. No system is perfectly secure, so we can't promise that information will never be accessed without permission, but we'll tell you if a breach is likely to cause you serious harm.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll tell you in the app before the change takes effect. The date at the bottom of this page shows when it last changed.
